Weight Conversion To convert pounds into kilograms, simply divide the number of pounds (lbs.) by 2.2046. To convert kilograms into pounds simply multiply by 2.2046. ** A common mistake is simply using the conversion 2, or 2.2. This will cause errors. Example: 3000# divided by 2.2046 = 1360.791kg (1361kg). If you used the incorrect figure of 2 you would get 1500kg. If you used the incorrect figure of 2.2 you would get 1363.6363kg (1364kg) and be 3kg off the correct figure.
